Halo Gan & Sist,
If asked who is the best player of all time, the answer will definitely spark debate.
But if the question is changed to:
“Who is the most profitable player business-wise?”
The answer may be much more interesting.
Until now, we thought that FIFA only needed big tournaments, sponsors and broadcasting rights to continue to grow.
But what if it turns out there is one variable whose value is much greater than all of them?
Lionel Messi.
Since winning the 2022 World Cup, almost all business figures related to Messi have soared. Sales of merchandise, broadcast rights, sponsors, and the number of spectators in various competitions have also increased.
The thing that makes me curious is not how great Messi is on the field.
But…
What will happen when Messi actually retires?
Does FIFA already have a replacement capable of attracting world attention on the same scale?
Or perhaps the football industry is facing a problem that is rarely discussed: too dependent on one global icon?
I try to examine the business side behind this phenomenon in the latest video. Not to compare who is greater, but rather to see how one player can influence the billion dollar football industry.
If you think bro & sis…
Will football remain as big as it is now after the Messi era is truly over? Or does FIFA need a “new Messi” to keep its business engine running?
It’s interesting if we discuss it from a business perspective, not just club or player fanaticism.
