After thousands of families attended on the first day, kumparanMOM Children’s Day Festival 2026 continued its series on the second day by presenting a Storytold session by Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology Stella Christie and Deputy Minister of Women’s Empowerment and Child Protection Veronica Tan. Both of them present stories that are close to children’s world while inviting them to imagine and get to know various new experiences.
Stella together with KumparanMOM Chief Editor Dhini Hidayati presented Malin Kundang’s fairy tale which teaches children the importance of respecting and loving their parents. Stella emphasized that fairy tales are not only entertainment, but also a means of in-depth learning and have an influence on children’s growth and development. By following the storyline, children can understand the value of life while honing their critical thinking and creativity skills.
“The structure of fairy tales helps children learn to organize thoughts sequentially, similar to the way scientists convey findings in research. Even though the story is complicated, children can still understand it, and from there they learn to think systematically and develop creativity for themselves and others,” said Stella.
After the Storytelling by Stella Christie session, Veronica read a book Bootsy Pusswith Dhini Hidayati. This story about the search for a pet cat invites children to understand the meaning of loving and looking after animals, while also teaching them the importance of patience and paying attention to the small things around them.
The Storytelling session is part of the kumparanMOM Children’s Day Festival 2026 experience which presents various figures to tell stories close to the world of children over the two days of the event. Starting from the Director General of Public Communications and Media, Ministry of Communication and Digital, Fifi Aleyda Yahya, influencerTasya Farasya, and author of the book Na Willa Reda Gaudiamo. On the first day, this session invited children to develop their imagination, get to know new experiences, and build interactions with their families.
The second day of the kumparanMOM Children’s Day Festival 2026 began with the Little Parade which invited children to show their creativity through fantasy-themed costumes. The participants toured the Gelora Bung Karno area, Jakarta, bringing their characters and imaginations to a series of festival activities.
The enthusiasm of children and families during the two days of the event also shows the importance of providing spaces that provide opportunities for children to play, move, try and express themselves. Chief Editor of kumparanMOM Dhini Hidayati assesses that the involvement of children and families is an important part of organizing this year’s festival.
“For two days, we saw children daring to try various activities, actively moving, performing and interacting with the environment around them. We hope that the experiences they take home can encourage families to continue to provide space for play and exploration in their children’s daily lives,” said Dhini.
Throughout the second day, children and families enjoyed a variety of activities, ranging from short film screenings, music and dance performances, arts and crafts activities, discussions about children’s education and health, to various interactive games. The Little Star Stage also provides a space for children’s talents to show their abilities in singing, dancing and ballet.
Indonesian animated character Adit Sopo Jarwo also greeted visitors through episode screenings, sing-along sessions and meet and greets. Children can interact directly with Adit, Sopo, Jarwo and Dennis, whom they have known through animated shows.
The excitement on the second day continued with the performance of young singer Mazaya Amania who performed three songs. Apart from that, the Bambala Stage also presented a violin performance by Liam Ian Gunawan and Friends who performed a number of selected domestic and foreign songs, including medleyIndonesian songs.
The second day of the series also featured the interactive show Ice Beasts by Dino Island. Children are invited to explore the prehistoric world with the Ice Dragon, Snow Gorilla and Red T-Rex through a combination of stories, imagination and interaction with the audience.
The excitement of the 2026 kumparanMOM Children’s Day Festival has started on Saturday, July 25 2026 by presenting various activities for children and families. The first day was enlivened with performances social circusmusic and dance, children’s short film screenings, creative activities, ventriloquist performances, and the presence of Si Unyil Universe as a legendary Indonesian children’s character who brings together the new generation with characters who have been known across generations.
