The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is starting to use AI to help citizens find partners and deal with the birth crisis.

Through the Tokyo Enmusubi application, it was recorded:
✅Around 36,000 people have registered
✅Around 16,000 members are still active
✅760 couples are in a serious relationship
✅265 couples have married

This app is different from regular dating apps because it is only intended for people who are serious about getting married. Users must prove their single status, submit documents, and take part in an online interview.

The AI then analyzes the compatibility and provides partner recommendations along with a compatibility score.

This program comes in the midst of Japan’s demographic crisis. In 2025, the number of births will fall to a record low of 671,236 babies, while the fertility rate will be only 1.14.

In your opinion, can AI really be a solution to increasing marriage and birth rates?

Or does the main problem still lie in the cost of living, work and social pressure? Is anyone interested?
