A BANDUNG PSYCHOPATH WHO IS WANTED BY THE ENTIRE INDONESIAN SOCIETY.West Java residents are being shocked by the case of extreme violence and confinement that befell a young woman with the initials YTR (29). Tragically, the perpetrator of this barbaric act was her boyfriend, Taufik Hidayat (30), who is now a fugitive (DPO).
Victim YTR, who previously worked as an employee at a food company in Pasteur, was held captive and tortured for approximately three years. As a result of the torture which occurred over a very long period of time, the victim suffered deep physical and psychological injuries.

The victim was in the control of the perpetrator, the couple’s last trail was traced in the Cinunuk Village area, Cileunyi District, Bandung Regency.

The following is a summary of the chronology and surprising facts behind this confinement case:

1. Governor Dedi Mulyadi Holds IDR 250 Million Competition
So furious with this inhumane act, West Java Governor Dedi Mulyadi reached into his personal pocket to open a competition. He promised a cash prize of IDR 250 million to any resident who could provide valid information regarding the whereabouts of Taufik Hidayat until the perpetrator was caught by the police.

2. The victim’s physical condition was destroyed and he experienced blindness
As a result of repeated abuse using blunt objects and sharp weapons, YTR suffered terrible injuries. Member of Commission VIII DPR RI Atalia Praratya and the police revealed that both of the victim’s eyes were blind due to an extreme physical infection, the facial structure was destroyed, the lips were damaged/cleft, the six front teeth fell out, and the head had a severe infection and was festering.

3. The government will bear the costs of reconstructing the victim’s face

Minister of Health (Menkes) Budi Gunadi Sadikin has confirmed that the medical treatment of victims is being supervised directly by the Ministry of Health at RSHS Bandung. The medical treatment carried out is not only wound treatment, but also reconstructive plastic surgery in stages to improve the victim’s facial structure.

4. Mysterious sound of walls hitting the boarding house

Even though he was held captive for a long time, the boarding house guard admitted that he never heard screams or moans for help from the perpetrator’s room. Residents often only hear the sound of punches or kicks hitting the walls from these rooms.
The perpetrator, who worked as a debt collector, was very secretive, always locked his room, and once lied to the boarding house guard by saying that his partner had been blind since childhood due to minus 17 eyesight.

5. The perpetrator’s assets were completely drained by the perpetrator
Apart from physical suffering and mental trauma, YTR victims also experienced material losses. According to Atalia Praratya, during the period of confinement, the victim’s valuables and property worth more than IDR 50 million were drained by the perpetrator.

6. West Java Regional Police Forms Special Team
Meanwhile, the West Java Regional Police formed a special team to hunt down Taufik Hidayat, who now has DPO status. Starting from the Directorate of Drug Investigation, Cyber, Special Crimes and General Crimes.

Investigators have also obtained data on Taufik Hidayat’s former company as a debt collector. The company has been asked for information to find the whereabouts of the person concerned.

“I also inform you that we have published a wanted list of people. Regarding this, we will hope for help from the entire community who, if they see the information, find out or meet them, will immediately be able to cooperate with the West Java police, especially the West Java Regional Police, to be able to inform them of their whereabouts,” said West Java Regional Police Chief Inspector General Rudi Setiawan.

7. Dark Traces of Taufik Hidayat and His Ex-Wife
Reported by detikJabar, West Java Police Public Relations Head Kombes Pol Hendra Rochmawan said the police identified Taufik Hidayat’s ex-wife. However, the torture of the perpetrator’s ex-wife was not as severe as YTR.

“We identified and found that the perpetrator’s ex-wife was also treated the same (tortured) but not as badly as this (YTR victim),” said Hendra when met in Cisarua, Tuesday (23/6/2026).

Meanwhile, regarding the possibility of other victims being widely discussed on social media, Hendra said that so far there had been no official reports from other parties claiming to be victims of Taufik Hidayat’s actions.

“As for other victims, we are still waiting to see whether anyone wants to report it or not. So far, only 1 victim has been officially reported,” said detiknews.
