If someone says one person has more wealth than 1 trillion US dollarsmost people’s first reaction is definitely the same:
“Seriously? Where did you put the money?”
In reality, most of Elon Musk’s wealth is not in cash.
Its value comes from ownership of shares in companies such as Tesla, SpaceX, X (Twitter), dan xAI. This means that wealth figures can change very quickly just because stock prices move up or down.
What’s interesting is that the journey to wealth is far from smooth.
Before becoming the richest person in the world, Musk once risked almost all his money to save Tesla and SpaceX. Even in 2008, both companies almost ran out of funds.
If at that time one of them failed to survive, maybe we would never know Elon Musk like he does now.
The thing that makes me curious is not the nominal value.
But…
Does the modern economic system really allow one person to have that much wealth? Or is this figure actually just a reflection of market valuation which can change at any time?
Because this topic is interesting, I tried to summarize it into an economic history documentary that discusses the complete journey of Elon Musk’s wealth from the beginning until he was able to set a world record.
