The scholarship program selection process is carried out very transparently and well. The educational process in Russia begins with podfak or pre-university education for students from outside Russia. In the podfak, core material is studied in Russian and 3 basic subjects related to the learning process that will be carried out in the first year of primary education.

The podfak education process is packaged in a very interesting way and makes foreign students comfortable studying in Russia. Because of course the difference between studying in a student’s home country and in Russia is definitely different. Apart from studying Russian, students also study 4 basic subjects.

Because the third degree study program that was successfully obtained was majoring in food systems, the 3 basic subjects imposed on students were mathematics, chemistry and physics. These three courses are not the same for every student because they depend on the major the student will take in their first year of education.

For example, for students who major in economics, these students get courses related to economics. Then for students who get scholarships majoring in medicine or biology, they get Biology courses. Likewise, students who study social and political subjects receive basic courses in linguistics and history.

The podfak program or first year of education at Russian Universities lasts varying from 6 months to 1 year. Depends on when the class starts. As I experienced, I had a podfak study period of 6 months from November to June. The lessons are very fun and make the learning process not feel boring.

And what is different from education in Indonesia, education in Russia is the same as education in other developed countries, namely prioritizing process and progress. Don’t always prioritize exam results at the end of the study period. Because the most important thing is that students understand the existing process. And understand all the courses delivered by the existing lecturers.

And at the end of the podfak study period or first year of graduation, students receive a graduation certificate as proof that they can continue their studies in the following year.
