China Claims to Have Successfully Planted the World’s First Commercial Brain Implant!

China claims to have successfully carried out the world’s first commercial brain-computer interface (BCI) implantation.

This technology was developed by Neuracle or Borui Kang Medical Technology with a device called NEO.

The coin-sized implant was implanted in a patient who lost the ability to move his arms due to a spinal cord injury about 10 years ago.

This device has 8 electrodes that read electrical activity in the brain when the patient imagines hand movements.

The signals from the brain are then translated by the computer into commands to move the robot glove.

What makes it important is that NEO has received commercial permits from Chinese regulators in March 2026.

This means that China is now entering more seriously into the BCI technology competition against Elon Musk’s Neuralink.

This technology could be a major breakthrough in helping paralyzed or neurologically impaired patients communicate and move again with the help of digital devices.

In your opinion, brain implant technology like this brings more hope to the medical world?
Or does it have to be closely monitored because it involves data security and human control?
