This bill is scheduled to be brought to the DPR plenary session on July 21 2026 to obtain level II approval.
The main contents of the PFII Bill include:
* Formation and objectives of PFII
* Types of financial sector business activities and their support
* Establishment of the PFII Board as well as management and supervisory institutions
* Reporting system to the President and DPR
* Arbitration institutions and special PFII courts
* Central and regional government support
* Tax, customs and other special facilities
* Use of foreign exchange, permits, and special financial transactions in the PFII area
This bill also opens up space for providing tax incentives and special regulations for business actors, experts and investors operating in the PFII area.
The government hopes that this regulation can become the foundation for building an international financial center capable of attracting global investment and strengthening Indonesia’s position in the world financial market.
In your opinion, the presence of PFII will really make Indonesia a new financial center in the region?
Or does it need to be closely monitored so that special facilities do not only benefit certain groups?
