Hi everyone, Shalom Aleichem!
Good evening GanSist everyone!
Welcome back to Supergirl Seriesthe 14th, a series of threads discussing how teenage girls aged 12–18 years can grow into strong individuals physically, mentally, socially and spiritually.
In previous series, we have discussed various things related to teenage life, from health, sports, education, mental toughness, to social skills. This time, we will learn from an Indonesian female figure whose name is well known to the public, namely Mrs. Hasri Ainun Habibie.
For some people, the name of the late Mrs. Ainun is often associated with her love story with the late Third President of the Republic of Indonesia, Prof. Dr. Eng. H. Bacharuddin Jusuf Habibie. However, if we examine it more deeply, Mrs. Ainun is not only known as the wife of a big figure. She is an intelligent woman, highly educated, dedicated to the world of health, and a role model in family and social life.
Many teenage girls today look for role models on social media or the world of entertainment. In fact, Indonesia has many female figures who can be used as inspiration in building character. Mrs. Ainun Habibie is one of them.
So, what examples can teenagers learn from him?

1. The Importance of Education and Love of Science
One of the things that is often forgotten when talking about Mrs. Ainun Habibie is her academic background.
He is a doctor who studied at the Faculty of Medicine, University of Indonesia. Becoming a doctor is not an easy thing. Medical education requires perseverance, discipline, the ability to think scientifically, and high dedication.
From here, teenagers can learn that women have equal opportunities to pursue the highest possible education and make major contributions to society.
In Supergirl Series #6, we discussed the importance of having high educational aspirations. This spirit is also reflected in the figure of Mrs. Ainun.
Education is not just a tool to get a job. Education helps a person to develop a way of thinking, understand life more broadly, help others with the knowledge they have, and become a wise person.
In the modern era, teenage girls have more opportunities than previous generations. Access to education, books and information is increasingly widespread.
Therefore, adolescence should be used to build good study habits. Mrs. Ainun shows that intelligence and gentleness are not two contradictory things. Someone can be a woman who is both intelligent and humble.

2. Become a caring and empathetic woman
The medical profession teaches one to be close to human suffering. A doctor not only deals with disease, but also with the anxieties, fears and hopes of patients.
Empathy is a very prominent character in the figure of Mrs. Ainun. Why is empathy important for teenagers? Because modern life sometimes makes people focus too much on themselves. Social media encourages people to pursue popularity. Academic competition keeps people busy pursuing achievements.
However, humans do not live alone. We live with other people. The ability to understand other people’s feelings is one of the foundations of healthy social relationships.
Psychological research shows that empathy is related to the ability to work together, healthy social relationships, prosocial behavior, and psychological well-being.
In the previous series, we also discussed the importance of being a person who is able to help others. This value can also be seen in Mrs. Ainun’s life as a doctor.
For teenage girls, empathy can be realized through simple things, such as listening to friends who are sad, helping small children who are hurt, respecting other people’s feelings, and participating in activities to help others.
A woman’s strength is not only measured by her achievements, but also by her ability to care for others.

3. Maintain Loyalty, Commitment and Responsibility
One of the things people remember most about Mrs. Ainun is her relationship with BJ Habibie. The story is often seen as an example of loyalty and commitment within the family.
However, if seen from a psychological perspective, there is a broader lesson, namely the importance of commitment and responsibility. Commitment doesn’t only apply to romantic relationships. Commitment is also important in education, friendship, organizations, work, and self-development.
Many teenagers today live in an instant culture. When faced with difficulties, some people give up easily. When faced with challenges, some people want to stop immediately. In fact, success in various fields often requires long-term commitment.
In Supergirl Series #10, we discussed that humans should not turn stones into bread. This lesson can also be found in the life of Mrs. Ainun. He showed that loyalty and responsibility are not signs of weakness. On the contrary, both of these are signs of strength of character.

4. Being a Humble and Modest Woman
Despite being the wife of a national figure and living in an environment full of achievements, Mrs. Ainun is known as a simple and humble person.
Humility is a very important character, but often gets less attention. In modern life, many people compete to look greater than others. In fact, psychological research shows that humility is related to better social relationships, higher learning ability, better psychological health, and the ability to accept criticism and improve oneself.
Humble people realize that they still have a lot to learn, don’t feel the greatest, don’t feel the most righteous, and don’t look down on other people.
This kind of attitude is very important for teenagers. During adolescence, a person is in the process of searching for self-identity. Sometimes there is a desire to get recognition from the environment.
However, true appreciation does not come from being arrogant. True honors arise from good character and real contribution. Mrs. Ainun gave an example that someone can be an accomplished person without losing humility.

Why Do Teenagers Need to Have Role Models?
Developmental psychology explains that teenagers learn a lot through the process of observation and example.
Someone who has a role model tends to find it easier to build values, life goals and positive character.
Role models don’t have to be perfect. Nobody is perfect. However, we can learn from the good values a person has.
From Mrs. Ainun Habibie, we can learn at least four things:
1) Love education and science.
2) Foster empathy and concern.
3) Maintain commitment and responsibility.
4) Be a humble person.
These four values are very relevant for young women who are preparing for the future.

Being Supergirl Doesn’t Mean Having to Be Perfect
Sis, the main goal of the Supergirl Series is not to create perfect teenage girls. Nobody is perfect. The goal is to form teenagers who continue to grow. Be healthier. Become smarter. Become stronger. Become more caring. Become wiser. And all of these processes require role models.
The figure of Mrs. Ainun Habibie teaches that women can be strong individuals without losing gentleness, can be intelligent without losing humility, and can be accomplished without forgetting human values.

CLOSURE
Adolescence is a very important period in character formation. Small choices made now can affect life in the future.
Therefore, it is important for teenagers to have good role models.
Mrs. Hasri Ainun Habibie taught many valuable lessons about education, empathy, commitment and humility. These four values are not only relevant to his generation, but are also really needed by today’s teenagers.
Hopefully, through this discussion, more young women will be inspired to continue to grow into strong individuals physically, mentally, socially and spiritually. That’s the main spirit of Supergirl Series #14.
