Hi everyone, Shalom Aleichem!
Good morning GanSist everyone!
GanSist definitely thinks that going on a diet program means having to say goodbye to noodle-based dishes. However, this assumption is not entirely true. Currently, various alternative noodles are available which have a lower calorie content than noodles made from wheat flour, one of which is shirataki noodles.
Shirataki noodles come from the konnyaku plant (Amorphophallus konjac), which is a tuber plant that is widely cultivated in Japan, China and several other Asian countries. The main ingredient in these noodles is glucomannan, a water-soluble dietary fiber that is famous for its ability to absorb large amounts of water. When consumed, glucomannan forms a gel in the digestive tract, thereby providing a feeling of fullness for longer.
Various studies show that consuming glucomannan can help control appetite, improve blood sugar levels, and support weight management when combined with a balanced diet and sufficient physical activity. Because their calorie content is very low, shirataki noodles are one of the favorite foods for low-calorie and low-carbohydrate dieters.
However, shirataki noodles have a relatively neutral taste so they need to be combined with other ingredients to produce a dish that is both delicious and nutritious.
Here are 4 shirataki noodle recipes that you can make yourself at home.

Why are Shirataki Noodles Suitable for Dieters?
The main advantage of shirataki noodles lies in their very high glucomannan content. This soluble fiber absorbs water and forms a gel, thereby slowing gastric emptying. As a result, the feeling of fullness lasts longer than low-fiber foods.
In addition, shirataki noodles have a much lower calorie content than regular noodles. This makes it easier for someone to reduce daily energy intake without having to drastically reduce food portions.
However, it is important to understand that there is no one type of food that can magically reduce weight. The success of a diet is determined by a balance between energy intake, physical activity, sleep quality and consistency in living a healthy lifestyle.
So that the benefits of shirataki noodles are optimal, it is best to combine this dish with a protein source such as chicken, eggs, fish or tofu, as well as various types of colorful vegetables. This combination will help meet daily nutritional needs while maintaining a feeling of fullness for longer.

The vegetable chicken shirataki noodle recipe is suitable for a complete lunch, scrambled egg shirataki noodles are the easiest choice when cooking time is limited, mushroom soup shirataki noodles provide a warm, comforting sensation, while spicy tuna shirataki noodles provide a stronger taste without having to sacrifice diet goals.
