The Jakarta Special Regional High Prosecutor’s Office has named a former official from the Ministry of Public Works as a suspect in a case of alleged project corruption at the Directorate General of Water Resources for the 2023–2025 fiscal year.

The suspect is Yosiandi Radi Wicaksono, Acting Director of Irrigation and Swamps at the Directorate General of Natural Resources for the period July 2025–January 2026.

Prosecutors suspect that Yosiandi and other officials carried out extortion, received bribes and gratuities in the form of cash of more than IDR 2 billion from a number of state-owned companies and private parties related to projects at the Directorate General of Natural Resources.

Apart from that, the prosecutor also named two private parties as suspects in a case of alleged fictitious projects within the Directorate General of Human Settlements, Ministry of Public Works.

In this case, state losses are estimated to be more than IDR 16 billion.

The three suspects are now being detained at the Salemba Detention Center for 20 days starting Wednesday, June 24 2026.

Investigators have also confiscated two luxury cars, a sum of cash in US dollars, and are continuing to investigate the assets and possible involvement of other parties.

In your opinion, cases like this show that government project supervision is still weak?
Or is action like this a good step to clean up state projects?
