Start 1 July 2026the Indonesian government has officially implemented new regulations that limit commission cuts for online motorcycle taxi (ojol) applications such as Gojek and Grab to maximum 8%down from the previous approx 20%. This rule is part of Presidential Regulation Number 27 of 2026 which aims to improve the welfare of online drivers.
What Changed?
(a.) Previously: Drivers receive approx 80% of the travel fare.
(b.)From July 1: Drivers will receive a minimum 92% of the travel fare.
(c.)App companies can only take a maximum 8% as commission.
Example Scenario
For example, the travel fare is Rp100.000:

That is, a driver who completes 20 trips per day can earn higher income than before.
