According to Prabowo, this is a sign that farmers’ welfare is starting to improve.
This statement was delivered on the 79th Commemoration of Cooperatives Day.
Prabowo emphasized that the government wants to encourage economic growth from villages, sub-districts and districts so that more money circulates in the regions and the benefits are felt directly by the community.
One of the strategies emphasized is strengthening cooperatives.
However, Prabowo emphasized that strengthening cooperatives does not mean weakening large companies, MSMEs, the private sector, BUMN or BUMD.
It is said that all business sectors still need to be strengthened together.
On the same occasion, Minister of Cooperatives Ferry Juliantono reported that 83,000 Red and White Village/District Cooperative legal entities had been formed.
A total of 15,845 village cooperatives have been 100% complete, while 19,539 other units are still in the construction process.
It is also said that this village cooperative will enter various sectors, from managing people’s oil wells, mineral mining, CPO factories, to solar power plants.
