President Prabowo Subianto said the “londo ireng” group still exists today, but appears with a different identity.

The term “londo ireng” historically refers to natives who helped the Dutch colonialists fight their own people for personal gain.

In his speech, Prabowo said that this group could now emerge as:
✅Journalist or journalist
✅Non-governmental organization
✅Observer

Prabowo emphasized that Indonesia remains a democratic country and the government is not anti-criticism. However, he believes there is a big campaign that is trying to shake confidence in Indonesia, including the narrative that the country will soon collapse.

He likened the community to supporters of a football team. Criticism can still be expressed, but according to him, don’t let it reduce the morale of your own team.

In your opinion, Prabowo’s statement is a fair criticism of those who are considered detrimental to the country?

Or does calling journalists, NGOs and observers “londo ireng” actually risk silencing criticism in democracy?
